Fgura Gladiators has now registered a good number of players on their books with some other players set to be signed during the season to ensure we have a well balanced and equipped squad for the upcomig season.
While, as in every sport the main importance is participation we set our aims high and will strive to do our best to finish in the top half of the table even though this is our first season in this competition.
Our young and dynamic squad is ready to take on the challenges for the upcoming season. The ages of our players range from 17 to 30 and with the recent signing of player / coach Raymond Spiteri we have added a lot of valuable experience to our team.
Most of the players, around 70%, are related in one way or another and we believe this is a strong point of our team since this helps eliminate unnecessary internal competition and hard feelings.
We work together to achieve the best possible we can. Nothing feels better than winning a hard fought game through team spirirt and we chose our name hoping that the spirit of the Gladiator will help us fight till the very end of the game to achieve our goals and results.
OUR COACH
As from the 13th October 2009, Fgura Gladiators have appointed ex Hamrun player Raymond Spiteri as Player / Coach for the 2009/2010 Season. Raymond Spiteri has a vast experience in the football sector and apart from having played top level football he has also managed for several years a team that took part in the MAFA League for several years. Raymond will help us improve tactically with his guidance both on and off the pitch so we may continue to improve our game.
